Bali Holiday Secrets advises against drinking and riding a scooter, and suggests a private driver, Gojek or Grab. Ride-hailing pickup in central Ubud is restricted, so you may need to walk a little, as our Ubud guide describes. Most places wind down by midnight or shortly after. A few give hours to 2 or 3am, but those are guide figures we couldn't confirm on the bars' own sites.
Nyepi, the Balinese day of silence, closes everything for about 24 hours. Bali.com says shops, businesses and restaurants are closed, and hotels serve meals to their guests. The 2026 Nyepi ran from 6am on 19 March to 6am on 20 March. The next date is 8 March 2027, though Bali.com doesn't state the times. Check the date before planning a night out.

Our places data lists Sky Lounge by Ely's Kitchen and Puzzle Bar at 4.9 on Google, with several hundred reviews each, and none of the guides we read names them. We also left out single-guide bars: Belle Wine Bar, Eden Lounge, L.O.L Bar and Lokal Bar. They aren't dropped for being bad. There's nothing independent to cite beyond a rating or one guide, and the numbered list needs two.
